Mission Statement
The Athens Art Association encourages artistic growth among its members by means of collaborative learning of art styles and techniques, providing outlets for members to showcase art publicly and educating the public about the symbiotic relationship of art and the community.

Exploration and Discovery
Celebrating culture and diversity
Athens Art Association supports local artists by creating networking and exhibition opportunities with other artists and art lovers, no matter where they are in their artistic journey.
Members are able to exhibit their work, receive and give peer critique in a safe and encouraging environment, network with fellow artists and have the opportunity to visit studios and participate in workshops.

(December 7, 1948 - August 21, 2018)
A time to remember and give thanks to our patrons
During the year of our 100th anniversary as an organization, we received news that the Trust of J. Paul Reichman Art Museum Trust named the Athens Art Association as a beneficiary. Although not being an active participant member of Athens Art Association,
he enjoyed painting and visiting museums and art sales to see the work of other artists.
Mr. Reichman, a Georgia native, suffered from Dystonia which is a form of Parkinson’s disease. Mr Reichman appreciated art and cared about leaving what he had to support art in Athens. We are very appreciative of this lifetime gift which will allow us to expand opportunities for both our members and the wider community. Thank you J. Paul Reichman.
